Reading four piece Damn Damn Patriots met at a local history club and they certainly don’t shy away from the aesthetic of their inspirations. Scuzzy, early 80s, very ‘live performance’ production techniques nudge at the New Wave records they likely hoard. Luckily, they also have a high understanding of how two minute pop bangers work out. The Rialto Burns – While You Sleep

Although this track has been around for a few months it went completely under our radar, so we definitely need to make up for that. The Liverpool-based group have recorded what we describe a ‘banger’ here, fobbing off lo-fi ethics completely and taken the White Lies-cum-Killers chorus route. And good on em. Directed by Dominic Foster and starring Lotty Nears.

Trash Talk – Slander

A track taken from Trash Talk’s upcoming EP, with mad animation fitting the hectic punk sound. The Maccabees – Pelican

The new Maccabees single was released this week and gladly its as gloriously uplifting as the last album was, even if it does pre-empt “pushing up the daises”. You can purchase the album as of Monday 9th physically: Rise Shops or digitally via iTunes

Address Is Approximate

Although not a music video the video does include some music, and great music indeed by the Cinematic Orchestra I think its a really beautiful piece of animation and a funny sentiment.
All screen imagery was animated – there are no screen replacements. Produced, animated, filmed, lit, edited & graded by Tom Jenkins (theoryfilms.co.uk / facebook.com/theoryfilms – NEW MAKING [..]
