Such has been the recent weather in Britain, most people would be forgiven for fleeing the coast in a mad panic lest they be engulfed by giant waves. Not so the star in this video from Montréal-based three-piece La Corvette. On an otherwise deserted South Wales beach, our bearded protagonist abandons the warmth of his car and heads down to the pier to dance among the waves, to the strains of some exquisite, violin-centric post-rock.

The acting is such that he actually makes it look like a refreshingly invigorating way to start your day, rather than the actions of a lone nutter. It’s also beautifully shot, thanks not least to some brave, camera-risking work in the surf. Then again, seeing as it was directed by Matt Barton, whose last video featured a road trip with some armed locals in Libya, a bit of water probably wasn’t too much of a worry…
