For £1000, contributors get a small stake in the festival, as well as free tickets for life, discounts for friends, and a range of money-saving offers. With attendees often being very loyal to their favourite festivals, it’ll be interesting to see if other small festivals follow the same route…

Vines Singer To Mum:
Strange news from Sydney, where Craig Nicholls, former lead singer of Aussie band The Vines (briefly hot at the beginning of the century) has been arrested for allegedly punching his mother in the head last Saturday. According to reports, Nicholls, who suffers from Asperger's, has also been reported for an earlier incident where he allegedly held two steak knives inches from his mother's neck and threatened, "I could stab you".
