To say Damn Damn Patriots have influences is a bit of an understatement. ‘Duke It Out With…’ even has a title which alludes to early 90s garage rock. But do you know what? Who cares? The point is Damn Damn Patriots never let the pace up, better than that, they know how to form a track in the same vein as Jack White could in the early White Stripes years.

Grizzly guitar sounds scratch over lo-fi drum and bass production. The only shame is that the vocals are often covered in reverb, as certain track (such as Family Unit) show these guys can get a decent harmony together as well.

Get me to a pub at one in the morning after a few pints of larger with these guys playing anytime.

Exlovers - Moth
The long time coming debut from this London band has come at exactly the right moment. By biding their time they've managed to hit the wave of the return of the 80s/90s - these guys streaming the lo-fi sentiments of Pavement and Teenage Fanclub. The sweetly soft boy/girl vocals offer up a My Bloody Valentine if they had more of an eye on the pop market. Along with recent single 'This Love Will lead You On'; 'Blowing Kisses' and 'You Forget So Easily' manage to successfully balance between reverb heavy indie and choruses which could be span at a future indie disco. Right time then, and hopefully right place.
