Chevrolet Kicks Grooveshark to Kerb

With the gigantic amount of unlicensed music being hosted on the site, which has greaty annoyed Robert Fripp along with a number of record companies, it’s perhaps no surprise that car manufacturer Chevrolet has decided to cut its ties with streaming site Grooveshark. No reason has been given for the severance, but EMI’s lawsuit against the site and Universal’s allegation that Grooveshark staff had “personally uploaded tens of thousands of recordings to the service in clear violation of the law” probably didn’t help. With Apple and Google also unaffiliated and thus denying Grooveshark a decent app presence, you wonder how long the service can remain a major player…
