Woodpecker Wooliams – Gull

Videos

You can generally judge just how fast a star is rising by the budget of their videos. Woodpecker Wooliams‘ last single, ‘Sparrow’, featured cute but cheap shadow puppets. In this one however, we get Ms. Wooliams herself encompassing a Tori Amos-bothering range of alter egos, from a silver-haired autumnal harpist to a mascara-smudged, bird skull sporting ball of angst, surrounded by cages full of meat. Arty! Most impressively, she’s somehow managed to train a seagull, one of the most mischievous, irritating beasts on the planet. Truly remarkable.
