Move over Draw Something – Hum This! is about to steal your thunder. Running along a very similar idea, you’re given a song, then have ten seconds to whistle, hum or burp your finest version of it. The recording is then sent to a friend or another random player, who has to guess what it is. Hard to see how it won’t take off, and best of all if you buy the paid version then you’ll be donating money to War Child and Nordoff Robbins too…

Beat Bang
A rather novel way to delve into the world of electronic music, Beat Bang is new app from Belguim that arranges hundreds of important and iconic albums by BPM, allowing you to listen to and explore them in various ways. The app is attractive enough simply as a way to listen to classic albums on your phone for free (the first record we landed on, by chance, was Warp Record's landmark Artificial Intelligence compilation), but the information it provides you on those albums, and the way it links to related works using pretty little bubbles, makes it stand out from the streaming pack. If it develops, and crucially manages to license more albums (or allow you to add your own), it could become essential. One thing though - for the moment, if you want to understand the info, you're gonna have to learn French...
