Vondelpark are named after one of Amsterdam’s most popular green spaces, while their new album, released this week, is entitled “Seabed”. Both names are pretty appropriate considering the stoned, underwater sound they’ve honed over the last couple of years and the plush confines of Bush Hall should provide a suitably warm and welcoming setting for them. There’ll also be a sumptuous starter from support act East India Youth – the first signing to The Quietus’ new record label – for whom this is just the latest of several tasty bills he’s been turning up on recently…

Vuvuvultures, Viv Albertine and more @ The Windmill
The annual Easter all-dayer at Brxton's Windmill is always good value for money, but never more so than the bill lined up this Easter Friday. It's a veritable V-Twin headlining the event, with legendary Slits guitarist Viv Albertine showcasing her excellent new music before Vuvuvultures take to the stage in order to obliterate it completely with their intensely entertaining stage show. Preceding them on a superb line-up curated by SoundsXP there'll be noisy garage glory from Thee MVPs, smashing psychedelia from Mickey Gloss, the blissful indie-fuzz of Flowers, Devonshire dream-pop courtesy of Big Wave, DIY mayhem from Japanese mischief-makers No Cars, and former frontman of The Loves, Mr. Simon Love. Six quid for all of that, AND there's a free bloody BBQ. If Jesus were alive it's the gig he'd be going to, but then it wouldn't be Good Friday and it wouldn't be happening. So thanks Jesus!
