LCD Soundsytem frontman James Murphy is suing DFA records co-founder Tim Goldsworthy for $93,899 after an alleged “breach of contract” and accusations of “unjust enrichment”. The lawsuit was filed after “attempts to amicably resolve the issue”. Goldsworthy is accused of failing to “perform services he was paid for owing outstanding loans, improperly using the company credit card and making unauthorized withdrawls from [DFA Records] bank accounts”. The dispute stemmed from when Goldsworthy apparently relocated to Britain without letting anyone know

Music Industry Growing as Filesharing Falls in US
A rare piece (well, two pieces) of good news for the music industry as the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry reported that global revenue rose to $16.5 billion last year. While that's only a 0.3% boost, it's far from insignificant; in fact, it's the first increase since 1999.
