This is the second time that we have featured this incredible talent. We are fortunate enough to have a handfull of exclusive recordings that Ben Taylor AKA Loud Like A Lion has sent to The-Monitors!

We first discovered LLL through Balcony TV and saw him live at a God Dont Like It Show. He plays a battered acoustic guitar and sang songs with children’s themes. A very innocent artist who paints and draws, Ben sings in such a way that captivates you, a croaky voice with an innocent yet wise tone. His music is very stripped down lo-fi folk but with a very raw punky diy ethic and infectious and haunting melodies and vocals.

It was always about being guitar and vocals, but now Ben has gone away and messed around with doubling up vocals, adding extra instrument sounds from a midi keyboard on top of his usual guitar parts, percussion has also been included and it feels like this artist is blossoming.

We have included new song Army Jacket, and a video for his great cover of his label mate Dimbleby & Capper

Language does sometimes sound a bit same-y, but for a debut, Zulu Winter have proved [..]
