‘Senior’ the fourth LP from Norwegian electro-duo Röyksopp, is described as a moodier sibling to 2009’s upbeat, hook-heavy Junior. Released nearly a year later the album is quieter, withdrawn and introspective …and mainly instrumental. For my liking a little too slow at times but it proves that Röyksopp is one of those musical acts on the scene who can churn out crunchy, sophisticated pop confections on the one end but can just as easily evoke emotion through sound and sound alone.
