2009 saw the Club’s debut, a brash, indie-pop affair that did pretty well critically. Cue the bands second album, a scary and often terminal time for young bands who fail to capitalise on successes and expectation just knocks them flat. Well, not our heros here, who have done a fairly major job of completely changing their direction.
The bands new Album Flaws has been produced by guitarist Jamie MacColls dad (brother of Kirsty) and frontman Jack Steadman and is pretty much entirely acoustic, comprised of original tracks and covers, its dotted with folk, country and blues and heavily influenced by traditional elements you might have expected from a member of the MacColls but not anticipated from the Bombay Bicycle Club.
Its stirring stuff, as original as it is beautiful, have a listen to this,
