Rhianna and her umbrellas are SO 2007, a far more interesting and arguably useful subject matter for a song comes in the form of Canadian pop-hip-hoppers Radio Radio brand new release, titled ’9 Piece Luggage Set’. Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, I kid you not. Indeed, not only is this truly one of the few subjects to have its debut in a song, but its also an absolute cracker.
A song taken from their forthcoming album, the follow up to first Cliche Hot, is called Belmundo Regal, the inspiration for which came from a trip to Nova Scotia, as lead man LX puts it:
Our new album is dedicated to a stranger we’ve met in May 2009, while we were on vacation near Oak Island, on the south shore of Nova Scotia. This Island is the location of the so-called Money Pit, a site of numerous excavations to recover a treasure believed by many to be buried there. The stranger has introduced himself as Belmundo and we’ve decided to name him Belmundo Regal. He was captivated by the Oak Island mystery and so were we. We’ve talked with him all day long about natural phenomenons and treasure theories. Unfortunately, we’ve never seen Belmundo again, but we will never forget about the stories he told us. This guy has inspired us in an unexpected way and that gave us the power to write and compose our second album.
